ANIMAL FOREST CREATIONS ANNOUNCES KIDS’ SONGS FROM DOBIE GRAY

-- A NEW PLAY GROUND FOR THE DRIFT AWAY ARTIST

Franklin, TN – June 29, 2006 – Since his hit re-recording of DRIFT AWAY with Uncle Kracker, Dobie Gray has found a new playground – writing and singing songs for children and playing the animated “DOBIE” character in DOBIE & THE POSSUM TWINS, a teaching tool for children now being represented by Animal Forest Creations.

Ummm the Possumbilities, Dobie sings from the original Animal Forest theme song and calls on his song writing skills for YOU CAN’T JUDGE CREATURES BY THEIR FEATURES and IF I WERE A RAINBOW, that he has recorded for the Possum Twins’ project. Artists in assorted fields of music have recorded a number of Gray’s songs, but until now he has never attempted to write songs for kids. He credits Diane Cathey, creator of the Possum Twins, with bringing that about in his career.

When Dobie was asked how he got involved with the Possum Twins’ project, he replied, “I met Diane Cathey at a screenwriting event in Nashville, and when I read her stories, they held such an appeal for me. What really struck a note with me, aside from her central characters being warm and funny, was a message of learning and caring that she conveyed in her writings. Those logics and the way she handled them were very close to my own views in that I also have a strong belief in kids learning good values, kindness and understanding early on in their lives.” For both Gray and Cathey their introduction has become a meeting of their minds set in a positive tone of children’s songs and stories.

ANIMAL FOREST CREATIONS ANNOUNCES AGREEMENT WITH DOBIE GRAY

-- SINGER CUTS SONGS FOR THE POSSUM TWINS’ PROPERTY

Franklin, TN – February 2, 2005 – Animal Forest Creations, home to the new Possum Twins & Friends (cartoon characters for kids) today announced it has signed a major agreement with Dobie Gray, whose hit recordings include THE CROWD, LOVING ARMS, OUT IN ON THE FLOOR and DRIFT WAY (most recently, re-recorded by Gray and Uncle Kracker).

Under the agreement, Gray will participate with Animal Forest Creations in the creative process of the Possum Twins and Friends. He has recorded three children songs for the project. These songs include: POSSUMBILITIES (The Possum Twins Theme Song), SNOWFLAKESEVERYWHERE and IT’S CHRISTMASTIME (songs inspired by the Possum Twins’ stories written by Diane Cathey, creator of the Possum Twins.)

“Diane has a wonderful grasp on the innocence of a child’s way of thinking. It’s a great gift,” Gray stated. “When I heard the Animal Forest songs, I found myself laughing and at the same time feeling a tug at my heartstrings. I knew by the images they brought to mind that we’d have a terrific time in the recording studio. I was right. It was an experience I shall never forget, but one that I hope to repeat time after time.”

“Music is a magical gift to our children,” Cathey stated. “And, with Dobie’s incredible gift of song writing and through his involvement with different children’s organizations, his amazing voice is able to relate to the needs of children.”

Through the years, Gray has been involved with various Children’s organizations, including Vanderbilt’s Children’s Hospital, Tennessee School for the Blind, Dixieland BMX Races and Outlook Nashville. He is also active in Wildlife Organizations including Walden’s Puddle Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, and the Sumner County Humane Society.
